The librarians of SMK St. Michael Ipoh had a 3rd General Meeting on the 12th of November 2010.
The meeting was held in the Studio Room of Marian Library and started at 12.30 p.m. (Although I just can’t remember which committee talked first, but here are the reports!)
The Book Management Committee Heads, Ng Keen Ho and Oh Hai Seng processed over 60 books in October. The efficiency of book processing is quite slow as the computer system is down. The BMC Heads hope that the computer’s book recording system can be used soon.
The IT Committee Heads, Low Yee Wai and Gajendran, updated the library blog (which is this blog, haha~) and librarians can check this blog to keep updated! Also, the Antivirus in all the computers have been updated.
Librarians and students must scan their pen drives before inserting it into the netbooks and use the netbooks with care.
The Publicity and Service Committee Heads and other students who were involved have decorated the library with a beautiful ‘Kolam Rangoli’ during the Deepavali season. (I’m sure you saw it in the library. :D) Besides that, Shing Yee and Yik Sheng completed the two Librarian notice boards will all information updated. Any constructive feedback are welcome!
The Magazine Committee has received a total of 40 copies of newspapers and 15 copies of magazines in November. They have re-labelled the magazine shelf, so librarians on duty must make sure that the magazines are arranged in their respective places and they must not let students tear out any pages in the magazines.
Next, the Nilam Committee has recorded the total amount of books read by students from Form 1 to Form 5. The amount of Nilam books received are only half the amount they received last time. The majority of the Nilam books received were from Form 1 students. (We should read more books!)
From the 8th of November to 12th of November 2010, Kem Membaca 1Malaysia was held by the library. The Story-telling Competition (English) and Projek Kitar Semula was held on the 9th, while the Ulasan Buku Bahasa Melayu, Story-telling Competition (Bahasa Melayu) and 9 Minutes Reading was held on the 10th.
We are also pleased to announce that starting next year, in 2011, the library will reward the ‘Most Hardworking Librarian’ every month! (Work harder, my fellow librarians! xD)
